How to Watch the George Floyd Memorial Services on Fire TV

Thursday marked the first memorial service for George Floyd, whose death in police custody sparked nationwide protests. The Reverend Al Sharpton delivered a national eulogy, and the Floyd family attorney gave a criminal justice address during the service.

The service took place inside a sanctuary at North Central University in Minneapolis, Minnesota and drew hundreds of mourners, who peacefully showed their support outside of the sanctuary. There were a number of notable attendees as well who came to show their respects to George Floyd’s family, including the mother of Eric Garner, Martin Luther King III, Reverend Jesse Jackson, Senator Amy Klobuchar, Governor Tim Walz, Mayor Jacob Frey, and celebrities like Tiffany Haddish, Kevin Hart, Tyler Perry.

If you were unable to tune into the memorial service on Thursday, there will be additional services held over the next few days. ABC News will be covering the memorial service in both North Carolina and Texas for those who would like to view from home. Coverage is as follows:

  • Saturday, 6/6: There will be a public viewing starting at 11am ET at Cape Fear Conference B Headquarters in Raeford, North Carolina. Coverage of the service will begin at 3pm ET.
  • Tuesday, 6/9: The final memorial service will be held in Houston, Texas. News coverage will begin at 12pm ET until 2pm ET.
